Who we Are
Ararat Christian Junior School caters for 130 students from kindergarten to grade 7, approximately 41of whom are orphans and who board at the school. In operation since 2017, the school has 22 staff in total – 12 teachers, 2 class assistants and our amazing support staff.
The school is run on strongly Christian values and each child is made to feel precious and loved.
Whilst some parents pay minimal fees, the school & children’s home is mostly funded by donations.

Gideon Kabenge
ACJS is led by Pastor Gideon Kabenge. Gideon lived on the streets of Kampala, the capital of Uganda, after being orphaned following his mother’s passing.
He set up the school community due to his conviction that education of children presents a path forward for them to further studies, employment and stable living conditions.
How You Can Help
Make a Donation
The easiest way you can help right now is to make a financial donation. We can then put those funds to immediate use to feed and educate our children, provide them with shelter (where needed), and support our hard working teachers.
Donate Regularly
Donating regularly helps us start to plan ahead, knowing that someone has committed to a regular, meaningful amount that we can rely upon. This might mean we can put some money aside for an event, plan an educational activity, or offer more ongoing support to our orphans.
Pray for Us
We believe firmly that God hears your prayers and ours. Through prayer we have seen miracles at work, hearts mended, and amazing practical provision when we didn’t know how we were going to get through. Please remember us in your prayers!
Get Involved in a Project
As we grow we start to have needs that are larger than a single or even regular donation can provide. From maintaining our power and water, dealing with waste and providing education materials for our children – there are a lot of larger projects we would love to do.
